Dinner at John's Pizza with Claudette, Pam, Deb and Kendall. This was an adults only play so Claudette took Kendall home but not before we had rousing discussion on politics and the news. And Kendall had lunch for Thursday 😊
A very provocative well-done world premiere play called Project Dawn written by Karen Hartman. Each of the 7 actors - all female - played at least 2 characters on both sides of the court. They were so talented that they morphed into their other character right in front of us.
Here is the summary - Philadelphia is home to a revolutionary court designed by a passionate and shockingly funny group of women. Every day these lawyers, judges, parole officers, and staff work to transform the lives of women repeatedly convicted for prostitution. This play touches on the thin lines between freedom and slavery, activism and obsession for women on both sides of the law.
