CK did not pull a houdini again and was in his crate when I arrived home. I made macaroni and cheese for dinner and Kendall and I had a competition adding hot sauce. I added more hot sauce but needed to drink first and he added less but drank after eating it all. And 2 helpings no less!
We practiced the trombone, spelling, math, social studies and a long walk. A full night.
Buenas noches!
No matter how one receives a child, it is a miraculous gift from God. Once upon a time, there was a family of one. This family was blessed but had an open heart and home. By choice, we have become a family, first in our hearts, and finally in breath and being. We are an open family and hope everyone with ties to Kendall Alejandro or Allison Elizabeth stay in touch.

Around the World in 80 Days
Kendall was acolyte again in church and we learned about The Parable of the 2 Sons (Matthew 21:28–32):
"But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first, and said, 'Son, go work in my vineyard.' He answered, 'I will not,' but afterward he changed his mind, and went. He came to the second, and said the same thing. He answered, 'I go, sir,' but he didn't go. Which of the two did the will of his father?"
They said to him, "The first."
Jesus said to them, "Most certainly I tell you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering into the Kingdom of God before you. For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you didn't believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. When you saw it, you didn't even repent afterward, that you might believe him."
In this parable, Jesus speaks to the Chief Priests who believed they were without sin. The essential message of the parable is that God values actions over words.
We worked on cleaning the basement, organizing the garage and fixing a flat tire Kendall has on his bike. And another long walk for CK :-) Now we are watching Around the World in 80 Days. Phileas Fogg, Lau Xing, and Monique La Roche dare to do what no one has done before – beat the clock in a race around the world. Traveling the globe by land, sea, air, and even in-line skates, they're greeted with impossible obstacles at every planned and unplanned stop along the way, making their fantastically speedy voyage more frantic and heart-pounding than ever!

Millions and Millions and Millions of White Microbeads
is what I found just as we were ready to head to see Miss Alba. Kendall was supposed to watch CK. And CK somehow was able to pull down an iPad pillow containing all of these beads. He then opened the pillow all over the floor in the living room. Kendall was playing with the iPad and when I looked over the landing Kendall was trying to clean up the mess with the vacuum.
After our visit to see Miss Alba, I cleaned some more. I spent some time with Zachary's mom since she stopped for a visit and Kendall played with Zachary. A long walk with CK in the evening and some cleaning and decluttering :-) We watched Shangi Knights to round out our Shanghai weekend.

Meltdown
Totally mine and not Kendall's! Bottom line CK pulled a bowl of chicken and broth from the stove all over the floor, trash night and new material about Africa with one night to study for Social Studies besides a spelling test. I was overwhelmed but Kendall was awesome. After showers and regrouping we teamed up to get through the night. We chatted with Abuelos and thanked them for their package we received today and even watched some TV.
I have an incredible son :-0

Clark Kent is #1
Kendall rode the bus and CK and I checked in with vet in the morning before I went to work. All is well with CK and he loves riding in the car.
I came home from work at 9pm to find CK not walked or fed, the fish weren't fed and Kendall had ice cream for dinner since he "forgot to eat." Well, after walking and feeding everyone and cleaning up some urine in the house, Kendall wet to his room himself without CK since he didn't take care of him. After I cleaned date up for Thursday, we had a discussion that all of the animals especially CK are #1. Don't worry I reminded him he would be tested on a daily basis :-)

Monday, Monday, Monday
We were up early and left in time although we were both unhappy when the alarm went off. And I somehow managed to get chicken in the crockpot in the morning so a homemade dinner was practically ready :-). Kendall's bus came early at 5pm so we ate first, he walked CK while I cleaned up and went through his book bag. He did well his spelling test and drew some more great pictures. This time with some bad guys but Kevin is there to help him.
We are studying new words, math word problems (ugh! but we're doing it Jedi style) and social study words...

Relaxing Sunday
Church and acolyte for Kendall this morning. Kendall received many compliments on his acolyte no abilities :-). He made this circle what he liked and did not like. The drawings and his explanation are quite intricate and the photo does not do it justice.
We visited with an old friend, Ms. Timm, today and she starts radiation tomorrow. She is nervous and is in our prayers. We will visit her again next Sunday.
We relaxed and both are not feeling too well. But we did get a lot organized and cleaned :-0

Calvacade of Bands at Downingtown West High School
I worked today and Kendall spent the day with Miss Darby. When I came home Kendall and Zachary were I pushing the iPad and Kimdle Fire. After dinner, we went to the Calavacade of Bands at Downingtown West High School. Kendall took a shower, chose one of Justin's shirts, a brown denim jacket with jeans and was ready to go!
We had a great time looking for trombones. Our favorite was Coatesville High School and Kendall wants to go there for high school to be in the band! They had a great start by the flag girls who let everyone know they had their competitive face on, wonderful instrumentals and just looked fabulous on the field. Lots of props and creativity! We enjoyed trombone (and other instrumental solos) Harry Potter theme, Thriller by Downingtown West and stomping our feet in the stands. And we had fun looking for Justin playing the drums. Thanks to the Schmoyers for inviting us :-)

Wacky Wednesday
I was off today since I work Saturday so here is what happened today...
Kendall rode the bus this morning but requested I drive since it was col :-) And CK came with us.
I finished laundry and cleaning the kitchen then went food and miscellaneous shopping since Kendall does not like to go. I had an odd list so I went yo Walmart and Bottom Dollar. I also found a lot of great pumpkin stuff for Tia Lisa and Tio Steve.
I came home to put everything away the headed out again for another Collegium gym and regular uniform and Christmas Tree Shops for some organization baskets. I, of course, found other items :-) the best was a ball of Earth so we can use it for Social Studies.
I picked up Kendall at 2pm and stopped by Old Navy for a fabulous jean sale - sizes 12 and 14 - and then on to his therapy appointment. The first picture is a castle I found in his binder and I was impressed since he had one 3D going on :-0 He still wants to work on it...
The second is making letters come to life with Ms. Alba
Lots of homework. 6/8 on Science today and spelling and social studies Friday :-(

It's OK if I like syrup on my bacon...
We had another busy homework night. Kendall has spelling, science AND social studies tests this week. He practiced his trombone but Cordelia and CK did not enjoy it so I took them upstairs. I took a video of a Kendall from there. And at the end he told me 'thank you' after I complimented him!
At dinner , Kendall started singing the Sunday School sing they are practicing - It's OK if I like syrup on my bacon... So I said It's OK if I like ketchup on my apples :-)
Kendall's has a 4th grade Wax Museum Project. He picked geologist first but changed to Engineer specifically Aircraft :-)

Silly Putty Monday
School and work today. I had a doctor appointment so I arrived home a little earlier. I had the dogs walked and fed before the bus came. We did lots of homework tonight. Still trying to work in the trombone, science and social studies!
We used silly putty to copy his spelling words and pictures. Kendall did a great job with math tonight and earned some Kindle Fire time. We are also almost done our current Captain Underpants book.

Busy Sunday
Kendall has a cold with a runny and congested nose and a sore throat. But we still made it to church and the first day of Sunday School. I am teaching PreK/K again with a new partner and we have a great class!
We ran some errands and had our 18 month post placement visit. It was good but exhausting. A bit more paperwork and we will be finished.
Kendall put on a fashion show in the evening so we can see what fits and what we can donate. Now I need to do that :-)
Buenas noches!

Philly Brick Fest and I don't want to go home :-0
I was somehow able to to get a lot done this morning while the boys played. We left early for Philly Brick Fest arrived at the Expo Center at quarter to 2pm. But we couldn't enter until 3pm so we went into the Adidas outlet. Of course, each if the boys found shoes but all the Moms saiid no :-). I did tell Matcus and Zachary that Kendall had a lot of shoes that didn't fit him so we could look once we get home. The boys did enjoy the 15+ shine section!
It was pouring rain at 2:30pm so we sat in the car. At 3pm, the doors opened so we didn't get on line yet but stood under protected are near the line. Once the rain dissipated, we took our place on line and what a line! We were inside Philly Brick Fest by 4:25pm. We had a great time and so much to do! Lots of building, great builds to view, video games, the LEGO derby, shopping and even miniature golf! The boys did the derby and unfortunately Kendall's car was stopped by a LEGO piece on the track so we him the honorary winner. We stayed until quarter of 7pm.
We had a great dinner at KFC and then headed home. The boys checked out Kendall's shoes and then we dropped off everyone at home. Marcus did try to negotiate another sleepover night!
We are watching my favorite movie - Pay It a Forward. A young boy stumbles upon a simple way to change the world in this drama. Trevoris a bright 11-year-old boy who comes from a troubled home; his mother Arlene is an alcoholic trying to hold down two jobs to support her son, while Trevor's father left his family behind some time ago. At school, Trevor's class is introduced to their new social studies teacher, Mr. Simonet, a guarded man with severe facial scars. Simonet gives his class an unusual assignment -- think up a practical way to make the world a better place, and put it into action. Trevor comes up with the notion of "Pay It Forward" -- do a needed favor for three different people without being asked, and then ask them to do the same for three others. Trevor starts by letting Jerry, a junkie living on the streets, stay in his home. Next, he tries to fix Arlene up with Mr. Simonet, since both seem to be lonely and the clean and sober teacher might help Arlene stay away from alcohol. Finally, he tries to rescue one of his schoolmates, who is constantly tormented by bullies. Meanwhile, journalist Chris Chandler finds himself stuck on the road without a car late one night when a man stops and give him the keys to a new car, asking him only to pay the favor forward to someone else; astonished, Chris wants to find out where this philosophy came from.
