No matter how one receives a child, it is a miraculous gift from God.
Once upon a time, there was a family of one. This family was blessed but had an open heart and home. By choice, we have become a family, first in our hearts, and finally in breath and being. We are an open family and hope everyone with ties to Kendall Alejandro or Allison Elizabeth stay in touch.
1/2 day of work for me and we headed to check into a hotel near Williams Grove Speedway.
I took a quick nap and the Abuelos and Kendall had fun in the pool. A great dinner at Cracker Barrel and then off to the races.
What fun - we were there until midnight and Abuelo Ricardo has his races fix until their next visit. The winner was a 20 year old engineering student whose father was also a race car driver.
And already as tall as I am! I worked a 1/2 day and met Kendall and the Abuelos at the Brandywine Regal to see Ice Age: Collision Course. What fun with soda and popocorn. We checked out Chromebooks at Best Buy and purchased an ASUS Tablet/Chromebook for Kendall's upcoming 6th grade, We expect great things from you.
A great dinner and evening. Kendall had a great conversation with Kevin, Kattya and Kevin with the Abuelos and myself.

Work for me and more fun with the Abuelos. A quick dinner and our last Tae Kwon Do class for the week. We headed to Dairy Queen for ice cream to celebrate the eve of Kendall's 12th birthday.
No evening plans so we decided on crabs, ribs and beer. Abuela Linda made corn and we had potato salad and coleslaw. Sunset BBQ and Crabs is less than a mile from work and I picked up pork ribs and a dozen crabs on the way home. The Abuelos and I enjoyed some beer and Kendall had talked the Abuelos into Mountain Dew (too much sugar and caffeine) much to my dismay. The Abuelos were disappointed Kendall asked for it but he is saving it for the car races Saturday. Sorry no photos - we had leftover ribs, a dozen crabs were enjoyed and great conversation. We highly recommend Sunset BBQ and Crabs [how many times did I write Sunset BBQ and Crabs :-)]?
We watched The Grand Canyon Adventure but in 3D and really enjoyed it.
We enjoyed the 9:30 am church service and a great lunch with friends - Miss Claudette and Miss Pam at Texas Roadhouse. We had fun catching up and eating great food.We were full after we were done eating! Miss Claudette has knee surgery Monday so she is in our thoughts and prayers. In hindsight we should have taken a photo but we were having so much fun and it was hot that we forgot. Bonus was that the 2nd Annual Alzheimer's Car and Bike Show was happening in the parking lot. This event is in honor/memory of Charles "Chubb" Rice who lost his brief battle with Alzheimer's. Being the avid car enthusiast he was, his 1940 Buick Super Coupe was his most prized possession. We enjoyed checking out the cars and motorcycles. Especially the VW bug which was my first car :-)
The afternoon - we were sleepy from eating all that food. Kendall did learn lots of new science from the Discovery channel with Abuelo Ricardo, practiced Tae Kwon Do forms and piano. And he read 2 chapters of the Chicken Squad with me. He did a great job!
In the evening we watch Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards - what a great film,
A relaxing start to the weekend with eggs and zucchini bread by Abuela Linda - she loves to cook :-0 I went the viewing of a father of a great friend who was taken too soon - Doug Albright at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lionville. Our thought and prayers are with the Albright's - Anne, Lindsay and Evan.
We went to lunch at Venice Pizza and hey remembered Kendall! They asked it he still remembered Spanish. We had a great lunch and picked up some for Adrienne and Carlos. And then on to visit Super Kalel. He is so cute. He was a bit fussy since his dad worked a double but he was adorable in his superman cape!
We headed to the Strasburg Railroad to get robbed but the Bonnie and Clyde gang on the The Great Train Robbery. We stopped by the Good Humor truck for some ice cream to cool us down. We were served by a real Good Humor man with an authentic Good Humor truck - so good. Once we were on the train, the buzz started about The Great Train Robbery rumored to take place. We we were supposed to be on guard for a gang of robbers targeting the Strasburg area. To protect the passengers, law enforcement will be on hand to keep the peace and see that justice is served - just Jack the conductor that had only 1 bullet. We recognizes the robbers by their early 20th century dress. The robbers, who are really improvisation actors from Act 1 Productions, We were given “loot” to carry on the train, only to have it taken from us during the ride.
We were caught in a downpour before the train ride but it slowed down enough for us to get on the train and stopped while were were on the ride. It cooled everything down and the Amish countryside was beautiful!
We ate at the Red Caboose Restaurant. It was their busiest night in 2 years but we enjoyed the ambiance and the food. Kendall and I has some ice cream afterwards and we met some friends at the petting zoo.
