Soulful Sunday

Tia Coreen and Abuela Ginny (and Jacques) head back to Virginia today - until next time...  It was way too long between visits this time.

Early church, Altar Guild (our last Sunday of the year!), Sunday School and late church since the Children's Choir was singing. In Sunday School, we celebrated Mayor Bob Broderick's birthday (it was Oct 29) and talked about how we figure out what is right or wrong.  At both church services, Kendall and I did a Temple Talk on Community and how important the church community is to us since our immediate family is Arizona and extended family is in New York.  I have been a member for almost 14 years and knew no one when I joined.  Now Kendall and I know pretty much everyone. We usually attend the first service so we can do more things on our Sunday so all the folks there see us every Sunday.  At the second service, Kendall was being a bit comical and everyone clapped for us when we were done speaking :-) I've added photos and a video of the Children's Choir for Reformation for your enjoyment.

We left the second service after the choir to pick up Marcus to celebrate his 12th birthday! Decisions, decisions as to what to do so we went to Kohl's to have a security tag removed first [we did set off the alarm but they checked the wrong coat :-( ], some appetizers and dessert at Applebee's then onto Movie Tavern to see Boo! A Madea Halloween IN THE FRONT ROW. Thank goodness for reclining seats!  A pumpkin chai latte shake for me and oreo shakes for the boys. Marcus had wings and Kendall had carrot cake, too - where do they put it?   The movie was so much fun - we laughed and laughed! Spoiler Alert - there is a scary clown in it!

Kendall and Marcus had a stellar day and can't wait until Halloween!

We were lucky to make it home and walk the dogs before a thunderstorm.  After some organizing and cleaning we settled in to watch Hocus Pocus!

Buenas noches!

Social Saturday

A sleep in day from such a fun night.  We both had hair cuts and Kendall has an ADULT winter coat and new jacket.  Kendall decided to be Mr. Grim for Halloween - he loves the scary costumes. And we did some food shiopping.

We met Tia Coreen and Abuela Ginny at Iron Hill Brewery for another fun evening out, We enjoyed a great pub menu and homemade root beer. I fear Kendall had too much liquid sugar.

We did get selfies this time...

Buenas noches!

Some lost photos from Yorkshire...

Buenas!

Friends Friday

A busy day at work and a 1/2 day for Kendall.

We met Tia Coreen and Abuela Ginny at Maggiano's so no time for Tae Kwon Do but Kendall did get his flu shot at CVS. He met a friend from school at CVS - he know everyone!

We had a great time eating dinner with Tia Coreen and Abuela Ginny at Maggiano's!

A fun and full night - we brought some food home from Maggiano's :-)

Back to Tae Kwon Do For Real!

We made it to the 7pm Tae Kwon Do class. Mr. Fox is still beaming over Kendall's Tae Kwon Do performance.  He also told me the referee noticed Kendall needed a larger hogu for sparring so we bought the next size.

Some math and language arts and time for bed.

Buenas!

Tae Kwon Do Tournament Sunday

We served at church at the 8am service as lector and acolyte followed by Sunday School then we headed to Colonia High School in Colonia, New Jersey for Kendall's 2nd Tae Kwon Do Tournament. We arrived at lunch time and had homemade sushi - both of us liked it! Then we waited for Kendall's group (12 to 14 years old) to be called.  Kendall had another exhibition and did wonderfully.  He was injured in the middle of the first round but held his own and finished the match. Kendall is in the red and sparred against an experienced fighter.  We are all proud of him and Kendall said he will win his third match.  He is so excited about his medal!

From Mr. Fox:  I was remembering that it wasn't that long ago that every time Kendall would lift his leg he would lose his balance and fall. He has come so far. I was incredibly proud of him today. And another parent commented on how his balance has improved.

Once of Mr. Fox's advanced students did board breaking and I stopped the video by accident just as he coming down to break the multiple boards with pencils in between.  He did do it and everyone was fascinated with his routine.  We also enjoyed some weapon competitions.

And we were tired but happy this evening as well since it was a 2 hour ride home.

His award says Kendra Radwick Alejandro - a new alias for Kendall but we'll take it :-)

Buenas noches!

Therapy and Trunk Or Treat Saturday

We had a great catch up therapy appointment.  Kendall can still fill in the small "play house."  He didn't want me to take his picture but I did anyway!  We had a discussion on 2 of his recent drawings - one was depressive and the other dangerous.  Can you guess which one?  We have some action items before our next appointment in 2 weeks :-)

Then onto Jesus and Me for the afternoon at church.  No photos except the tree art below (I love it!) and I brought a basketball trick or treat basket for Kendall so he could be a basketball player since he did not wear a costume.  Fun icebreakers, games, and of course, lots of candy during the trunk or treat!

And some downtime in the evening from all that fun!

Buenas!

Freedom Friday

I finally caught up with the blog last night so it is a freedom weekend.  I had trouble with my blogger app on the iphone so I was unable to upload any photos :-(

I had my flu shot today and am extraordinarily tired so an early evening for me and some TIV time for Kendall.

Buenas noches!

Trash/Recycle Night and Back to Tutor Thursday

Some house organization and tutoring with Lori at the Chester County Library.  Lot of photos of the double decker plane on Emirates to Italy - it is on Kendall's bucket list. We are going to have Kendall be tested with the Wade test  to check for improvement since we have been tutoring for 5 months. This would coincide with Kendall's school re-evaluation.

Some math homework and the remake of the Rocky Horror Picture Show on Fox - We LOVED it!

Happy Birthday John Paul and Marcus - we hope you had a great day!
