Free Slurpee Day (7/11/16): How to get a free Slurpee at 7-Eleven

Well we didn't do it but I thought about it :-)

Participating 7-Eleven stores indulge in a free small Slurpee, as the convenience store chain hosts its annual July 11 giveaway of the sweet slushy drink. Roughly 9 million free Slurpees are expected to be handed out today between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. The giveaway comes just before Slurpee Week.
For Slurpee enthusiasts, Free Slurpee Day will be followed by an opportunity to score more of the frozen carbonated beverages that come in flavors like Sour Patch Redberry, Hawaiian Punch Fruit Juicy Red and Fanta Wild Cherry.

7-Eleven is this year celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Slurpee, or Slurpee Fiftee. The drink was first introduced into the chain's stores in 1966. A Birthday Cake Slurpee flavor that is described as a "combination of traditional birthday cake and vanilla ice cream flavor" is also on tap in the store's Slurpee machines for a limited time to celebrate that milestone.

"Every year, 7‑Eleven Day gives us an opportunity to have some fun, say thank-you to our customers and celebrate our birthday Slurpee style," said Laura Gordon, the chain's vice president of marketing and brand innovation said in statement.
