The Kid Will Help The Kid

Today at work I was told a 9 year old in the area of the hospital I was covering was in need of clothes.  The social worker covering that floor knew Kendall was the same age and asked if I could help. The family is from Haiti. The son recently joined the father here in the US and was then hospitalized. I told Kendall about the boy and he said 'The Kid Will Help The Kid.' And so we did. Tomorrow, he will have new underwear, socks, shirts, shorts, comfortable athletic wear and pajamas. Kendall now has the same shorts and comfortable athletic wear so they can be twins! Kendall also added a LEGO set with one for himself, of course :-0

We did spelling, the alphabet, the last math page and FINISHED The Mouse and The Motorcycle. We are ready for the second book.  We watched Let It Shine on Disney while I finished the package for the boy in the hospital. Let It Shine puts a modern twist on the classic Cyrano de Bergerac tale, following aspiring hip-hop artist Cyrus DeBarge, who enters a songwriting contest sponsored by the music label of his childhood friend-turned-singing-star Roxanne "Roxie" Andrews. But when a mistake names his best friend, Kris McDuffy, as the winner for Cyrus' song, shy Cyrus agrees to let Kris have the spotlight while he stands in the shadows scripting the music. Things get more complicated as Cyrus watches his friend win over fans and woo Roxie with Cyrus' own lyrics and words while he keeps his true identity a secret. But when the truth comes out, Cyrus must conquer his own doubts to accept his recognition and earn Roxie's trust again.

Buenas noches!
