Tomorrow is a party...

Kendall told me tomorrow is a party as he skipped to the car!  He is very excited since tomorrow is dress down day and Make a Difference Day as well.  They are to wear crazy socks to stand up to bullying. He is going to wear Halloween socks :-)

Today his teacher wrote me the following:

Another stellar day!!  I think we have all our routines down.  He met the Library teacher today and He reported that Kendall was great.  He has officially met all his Special teachers!
Two things different today: he walked himself to the Y today and walked himself to the bathroom after lunch then to Mrs. M's.  He told me he didn't need a friend to walk him down to the Y, Ayden had been accompanying him down since she also has Y, so I wrote Mrs. Almond a note asking her to give me a call when he arrived which she did.
He is enjoying his Writing center so much!  He has 3 envelopes that he choses a part of sentence from (subject, verb, prepositional phrase).  He has written two complete sentences using these envelopes.  He  identifies the letter, the sound it makes, blends the sounds and reads the words.  When he writes his sentence, he knows he has to double check his work: notebook paper with no writing on the title line of paper, capital letter, space between each word, no spaces between the letters.  Once he reads the sentence, he will tell me if the sentence can happen or not.  So far the sentences can't happen: "The castle runs on the hill," and "The fish walks in the ocean."  We laugh first, then he draws a picture to match his silly sentence!
He melted my heart yesterday when I saw how much he wanted to learn and how much he just wants to do a good job!

And that was the case at home. We finished his homework packet, spent time on abcmouse.com and we'll see how he does on his spelling test tomorrow. He's gotten even taller as you can see with the jogging suit he put on tonight.

Buenas noches!
